NOTICE OF NOMINATION
Nominations for the offices of nine (9) School Trustees for:
- Trustee Electoral Area 1: Esquimalt Nation (1 Trustee)
- Trustee Electoral Area 2: Songhees Nation (1 Trustee)
- Trustee Electoral Area 3: Highlands / View Royal (1 Trustee)
- Trustee Electoral Area 4: Esquimalt (1 Trustee)
- Trustee Electoral Area 5: Victoria (2 Trustees)
- Trustee Electoral Area 6: Saanich (2 Trustees)
- Trustee Electoral Area 7: Oak bay (1 Trustee)

Interested persons can obtain information on the requirements and procedures for making nominations, including nomination forms online at /board-of-education/2026-election/ or by visiting the School District Board Office in person at 556 Boleskine Road, Victoria BC Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR OFFICE
A person is qualified to be nominated, elected, and to hold office as a School Trustee if they meet the following criteria:
- Canadian citizen;
- 18 years of age or older on general voting day Saturday, October 17, 2026;
- resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months immediately before the day nomination papers are filed; and
- not disqualified under the School Act or any other enactment from voting in an election in British Columbia or being nominated for, being elected to or holding office as a trustee, or be otherwise disqualified by law.
CAMPAIGN EXPENSE LIMITS
In accordance with the Local Elections Campaign Financing Act, for the 2026 general local election, the following expense limits for candidates during the campaign period apply:
